Welcome to the Customer Assistance Scheme portal where you can apply for free Income Maximisation, Debt Advice and White Goods.

To access this free support, you must live in a property that is supplied by Severn Trent Water. We cannot provide support if your property is not supplied by Severn Trent Water.

You will be asked to provide your address as well as your Severn Trent account number as part of the application process.

Since the launch of the Customer Assistance Scheme portal, over £515,000 of unclaimed benefits and other financial support has been identified for Severn Trent customers. On average, customers who complete the assessment gain £1,445 per year in unclaimed benefits and financial support.

Income Max

We can provide you with the following free support:

  • Completion of a Standard Financial Statement (SFS) and outcome letter;
  • Identification of unclaimed welfare benefit entitlements;
  • Personal budgeting and money management advice;
  • Advice and support with water & energy arrears;
  • Applications to charitable trust funds to secure household essentials;
  • Health & wellbeing applications i.e. blue badge applications, occupational therapy referrals.
  • White Goods - If you need a new cooker, washing machine or fridge-freezer, we may be able to purchase this item for you.


To be eligible for free Income Maximisation, you must:

  • Have a Severn Trent account
  • Have a household income of £25,000 or less


Debt Advice

We can provide you with the following free support:

  • Draft a household budget, including creditors, in line with the Standard Financial Statement (SFS);
  • Personal budgeting and money management advice, support to prepare a realistic budget and reduce expenditure including social tariff applications;
  • Advice on priority debts vs. non-priority debts and sanctions;
  • Advice on insolvency options, enforcement, Debt Management Plans, and disputes on an assisted self-help basis;
  • Advise you on next-steps and signposting for additional assistance;
  • Insolvency options - assistance in Bankruptcy or Debt Relief Order applications
  • White Goods - If you need a new cooker, washing machine or fridge-freezer, we may be able to purchase this item for you.


To be eligible for free Debt Advice, you must:

  • Have a Severn Trent account
  • Have arrears on your Severn Trent account of £700+

If you are applying for the support yourself, please create an individual account. If you work for an advice agency and you are applying on behalf of somebody else, please create an advice agency account.
